Building bridges – Italy joins TCP Cities

A warm welcome from Stefano Pizzuti, Head of the Tools and Services Division for Critical Infrastructures and Renewable Energy Communities, on behalf of Giorgio Graditi, ENEA Director General, and Alberto Jr Pela on behalf of Carlo Bardini from the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, to the Executive Committee meeting of TCP Cities held in Rome in April 2025 marked the official membership of Italy in TCP Cities, Bienvenuta!
ENEA is fully engaged with cities which play an important role in decarbonisation. ENEA carries out both national and international projects related to cities covering many issues including water and waste, energy efficiency in buildings, resilience, and adaptation to climate change. Internationalisation is key and ENEA has an extra office strategically located in Brussels. ENEA coordinates many stakeholder networks such as the Mediterranean Association of the National Agencies for Energy Conservation – Medenerand the Covenant of Mayors – Europe | Covenant of Mayors – Europe. Priorities for Italy include replicability of solutions both technical and non-technical; the development of new technologies, but also new business and governance models; and building resilient infrastructures.
