Task 1: Collaboration, Cooperation and Knowledge

Through a strategic collaboration between the Urban Transitions Mission (UTM),Global Covenant Of Mayors (GCOM) andCities TCP, the Urban Transitions Mission Centre (UTMC) serves as a shared online platform for knowledge exchange, bringing together cities, national city networks, and researchers to jointly explore solutions for key transition priorities by and for cities. The platform acts as a last-mile connector—delivering knowledge, opportunities, and practical tools to cities while enabling researchers and intermediaries to align their work with real-world urban challenges.

Direct link to the platform: www.utmc.app

Via the UTMC platform, cities can access curated insights by the participants of Task 1 activities of Cities TCP, contributing to shared global agendas such as the City Research & Innovation Agenda (CRIA) and the Global Research & Action Agenda (GRAA). Cities, experts and researchers can engage in topical discussions as well as in Research Action Groups (to be created) to co-design pilots, share learnings, and accelerate implementation. The platform also supports matchmaking between city needs and funding, facilitates events and webinars, and offers a growing repository of resources to inform climate action along the city climate journey, via the UTM Net-Zero Urban Framework.

This collaboration ensures that knowledge doesn’t sit on shelves but moves into practice—advancing zero-carbon, resilient cities through meaningful, multi-stakeholder engagement
